Yekaterinburg court considers Akif Safarov's appeal, rejects Ayaz Safarov's appeal
Russia's Sverdlovsk Regional Court has returned the appeal of Akif Safarov, who was arrested in Yekaterinburg, to the court of first instance, SİA informs referring to Russian media.
"The appeal on the measure of restraint for Akif Safarov was returned to the court of first instance. While checking the case materials, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court revealed circumstances that prevent it from being considered in the appellate instance. The court material was removed from the appeal hearing and returned to the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg to correct errors," the court said in a statement.
At the same time, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court rejected the appeal on the measure of restraint in the form of arrest for another arrested person, Ayaz Safarov.
"The defendant's lawyer appealed the ruling in the Sverdlovsk Regional Court, but to no avail. It entered into legal force," reads the statement.
The court will consider the complaints against the arrest of three more people - Bakir Safarov, Shahin Lalayev and Ahliman Ganjiyev - on July 11. The dates for the other defendants have not yet been set.
Earlier, it was noted that eight people were arrested as part of the investigation of the cases. The defense of seven defendants had previously appealed the arrest. The eighth defendant, Mazahir Safarov, didn't file an appeal.
