First Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Iltimas Mammadov was in the Islamic Republic of Iran in composition of an Azerbaijani delegation which visited this country on August 4, 2015. The delegation was headed by Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Economy and Industry. Iltimas Mammadov held several meetings in Iran.
The visit of Azerbaijani delegation was organized by Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran and the Iranian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, as well as meetings were held in various institutions on the basis of invitation of the Iranian side to MCHT.
First, several members of the delegation headed by Minister Shahin Mustafayev were received by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. They exchanged views on the development of cooperation between the two countries and future prospects. Then, an extended meeting was held at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with the participation of delegations from both sides. Objectives and expected results of the visit were discussed at the meeting.
During the visit, Iltimas Mammadov visited Telecommunications Infrastructure Company (TIC) at the invitation of Iranian Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Managing Director of Telecommunications Infrastructure Company Mahmoud Khosravi, familiarized himself with the activities of the LCD company, which offers a variety of telecommunications services, as well as held talks with Mr. Khosravi on the current state of relations and possibility of further activities between relevant institutions of the two countries.
During the next meeting, Iltimas Mammadov visited the Iranian Pardis Technology Park, including company eFarah. Prospects of cooperation between relevant institutions of the two countries were evaluated during the discussions held at the bilateral meeting with the management of the industrial park, the participation of the Azerbaijani delegation in international exhibition of technology and innovation INOTEX 2015 was highly appreciated by the opposite side. An agreement was reached on active participation of Iranian companies in BakuTel 2015 exhibition and conference as a continuation of ties.
Issues such as broadcasting, regulation of frequencies, mutual support in international organizations, purchase of equipment on discount terms were discussed at a meeting held in Iran Broadcasting Organization. The delegation reviewed the satellite control center of the organization.The Iranian side expressed its intention to use satellite services operated by Azerbaijan’s relevant body, the opposite side was recommended to apply to Azercosmos in connection with the issue.
At the end of the day, an extended final meeting of delegations was organized with the participation of Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi on the results of the visit of Azerbaijani delegation. At the meeting, they held information exchange on meetings and talks held throughout the day and the results obtained and determined further development prospects of relations.
