Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to Azerbaijan Heydar Shiya Gubeysi al-Barrak.
Speaking of the dynamic development of relations between the two countries, chairman of Azerbaijan and Iraq Joint Commission, Minister Ali Abbasov noted the special significance of communications and high technologies in the development of bilateral cooperation as in the economic, scientific, technical and cultural fields.
Saying the relations in this field between the two countries have entered a new stage, the Minister emphasized the mutual interest and new opportunities for further strengthening of relations and expressed Azerbaijan’s willingness to share its experience with Iraq in this regard.
In turn, noting close and friendly relations established between the two countries in all areas, Ambassador Heydar Shiya highlighted the existing common aspects in historical roots of the two countries. Speaking about successful outcome of the first meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Iraq held in Baku under the chairmanship of Minister Ali Abbasov, the diplomat said the meeting gave impetus to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq.
They also discussed new areas of cooperation and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
