Azerbaijani entrepreneur Gulnara Khanbabayeva has become a president of the new club Baku Deportivo Ellin, which was earlier called Ellin Deportivo and which has links to a group of entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan.
According to Laverdad.es, the official presentation of the new team management has already been held.
The outgoing president of the club Manuel Martinez thanked the new president for the interest to the club, while calling the project ‘inspiring and wonderful’.
The Azerbaijani business group started talks with the former director last season and they were recently finished.
Gulnara Khanbabayeva noted that she loves Spain and is happy to head the club. She told that she sets the goal to withdraw the team to Segunda division (now the team plays in Terser, the fourth division).
Gulnara Khanbabayeva drew the attention to the fact that the team is changing the name: it will be called Baku Deportivo Ellin in honor of her native city.
