The State Statistical Committee (SSC) of Azerbaijan has released statistics on the number of employees and wages in the country’s economy.
1.7% of hired employees in Azerbaijan were involved in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).
The SSC reports that as of April 1, 2015, the number of hired employees in the country’s economy amounted to 1507.0 thousand people, of which 879.2 thousand people worked in the public sector, 627.8 thousand people - in the private sector.
Moreover, 12.4 percent of hired employees were involved in industry, 8.7 percent - in health and social services, 17.7 percent - in professional scientific and technical activities and in other areas of economy.
In January-March of 2015, the average salary of the hired employees in the economy of Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 449.5. Average monthly wages in such spheres of economy, as information and communication, trade, scientific and technical activities were higher.
