The 22-year-old Armenian citizen has flied to Baku by mistake.
The airport staff almost turned into a tragedy when Asatur Khachatryan was seated on a plane heading to Baku "by mistake." Fortunately, the young man was not stopped and was safely seated on a plane going back to Kiev after he spent several hours in the transit zone.
Currently Khachatryan is in Kiev. The Ukrainian authorities let the young man stay with relatives.
According to representatives of the Ukrainian Airlines in Baku, Khachatryan was provided with food and protection. He called his parents as soon as he arrived in Kiev on Friday morning.
Media contact person for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation to Azerbaijan Ilaha Huseynova told the press that they are aware of it: "The relevant bodies are working on this issue currently."
