Italian news portal “Globalist” posted an article on Ilham Aliyev's speech at the PACE
Italian news portal ''Globalist'' has posted an article devoted to the speech of the President Ilham Aliyev at the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, SIA reports quoting AzerTac
The article highlights the opinion of the President Ilham Aliyev on the development of Azerbaijan, the reforms accomplished in our country in recent years, human rights, freedom of press, and other issues.
The publication also cites the opinion of the President Ilham Aliyev of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, "One of the problems we faced is the violation of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan that internationally recognized. Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict threatens the whole region. This is a frozen conflict. But in fact, this conflict cannot be considered frozen because the problem should be solved. Nagorno-Karabakh is the historic part of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijanis have lived in Nagorno-Karabakh for centuries. Armenians are living there for less than two hundred years. Unfortunately, at the moment our historical monuments and heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh have been destroyed by Armenian occupants. The conflict resulted in occupation of 20 percent of the internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan.
We have suffered from ethnic cleansing committed by Armenian servicemen, the Armenian army. One million Azerbaijanis became refugees and internally displaced in their homeland. Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent districts are under occupation for more than twenty years. This is a very great injustice".
The article also discusses the projects fulfilled by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Italy. It is noted that the restoration of the Roman catacombs and the implementation of other projects supported by the Foundation prove the role of the structure in the world's cultural heritage.
