Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalaf Khalafov has met Chairman of Saudi Arabia-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Abdullah bin Muhammad al-Nasser SIA reports.
Mr. Khalafov said Azerbaijani and Saudi Arabian relations have deep roots and praised dynamical development of these ties. He expressed confidence that this visit would contribute to strengthening the relations between the two countries.
The Deputy Minister highlighted the history and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the problems of refugees and IDPs, Armenia`s destructive position to solve the dispute.
He also said Azerbaijan praised support of official Riyadh on the country`s just position in settlement of the conflict.
Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al-Nasser, in turn, said Saudi Arabia always called the world countries to the peace, adding they always support their religious brothers.
He said Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan`s independence and condemned military aggression of Armenia.
He added Saudi Arabia supported and would continue to support Azerbaijan`s just position.
Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al-Nasse said there was great potential for further boosting relations in economic cultural, humanitarian, tourism, and education spheres.
