Having its own place in the region Azerbaijan plays an essential role as a producer of rich Carbohydrogen resources in providing energy safety for the neighbouring countries as well as the entire Europe. According to Trend, Ilham Alieyev, the President of Azerbaijan, has said so in his speech to the members of The Third Caspian Forum held in Istanbul.
The forums organized by The Caspian Strategic Institute have already become a tradition, President Ilham Aliyev said. Dear forum participants! I am sincerely greeting you and congratulate you on the occasion of your new assembly starting to operate. I think that these worthy assemblies where government officials, politicians, scientists, civil society representatives and business delegation participate, may tremendously contribute to the development of cooperation among the countries of the region, growth of reciprocal industrial investment, revival of the historical Silk Road and the realization of new large-scale transnational projects, which might possibly change the energy map of Europe.
Head of government noted that the Caspian region that connects the East and the West had turned out to be one of the important Geostrategical centres of the world: "
New contracts signed about the construction of Trans-Anadolu and Trans-Adriatic lines,following the Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Arzurum pipelines, have boosted the realization procedure of the Southern Corridor and have opened the way to transportation of Caspian energy resources to world markets via more suitable routes.
Ilham Aliyev noted that the rapid-growth of Azerbaijan Economy over the last 10 years had opened the way for carrying out large-scale projects in the region and world, investing in large amounts on fuel-energy complex, industry and social infrastructure of various countries: "being the next step toward the revival of the Great Silk Road, Baku-Tbilii-Kars railway constructed by our initiative will be serving the approachment of different cultures and civilizations. I hope that the proposals and the discussions made throughout the forum will greatly contribute to the expansion of relations among the nations and and the countries of the Caspian region, the determination of new directions and forms of cooperation, and the constant provision of peace and security in the region. I congratulate the forum participants once again and wish good luck for the work of the assembly".
