Mubariz Ahmadoghlu: “OSCE interim report proves that Azerbaijan does not interfere in election process”
"The monitoring mission’s comments in the OSCE interim report proves that Azerbaijan has never interfered in election process and is not going to interfere," politician Mubariz Ahmadoghlu told SIA while commenting on the notes the election observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) made in the interim report on forthcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan. He stated that it is a non-objective approach mentioned in the report that women will not participate in the elections.
According to the politician Azerbaijan women are very modern in Europe: "When there were election rights in Azerbaijan there was no such one in Europe. Our women take an active part in social issues. They think Azerbaijan government is not able to present a woman capable to be a candidate for presidential elections. But on the contrary there are many women to be candidates and hold other positions in Azerbaijan. Now Azerbaijan woman is engaged in politics, prominent among society and holds higher positions. What do they mean issuing this report? Do they want to destroy our state under the slander that the elections will not be democratic in Azerbaijan? Azerbaijan is situated in a region both complicated and rich in natural resources. Many people are concerned with Azerbaijani President’s successful policy. The meetings were not prevented during the presidential elections in Azerbaijan. The political parties know that they are free to organize meetings in the places allocated to them. Furthermore, one of the issues indicated in the report is that as if Azerbaijan does not accept the suggestions put forward by Venice Commission. If the essence of the suggestion put forward by Venice Commission on the composition of the election is to paralyse election process in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan’s suggestion on monitoring mission is based on publicity, democracy and transparency. Any OSCE monitoring observers may in the pres publish their notes on the elections. But monitoring mission prohibits observers to disseminate information. Head of monitoring mission changes the information according to the order and their political interest. He can misinterpret the information the way he likes. In this regard, their comments proved once more that Azerbaijan does not interfere in the election process and is not going to interfere."
