Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on last Friday pardoning a citizen of Azerbaijan Ramil Safarov, born in 1977, who was sentenced by the decision dated April 13, 2006 of the Court of Budapest (Hungary) to life imprisonment.
This decision was severely criticized by the officials and major media organs of various states. Hungary’s government itself condemned Azerbaijan on last Sunday over the release of a military officer who was earlier extradited to his home country by Hungarian authorities.
As a leading news agency in Azerbaijan, SIA intends to present to the audience the latest news in regard with the important issues in society. In that sense, we tried to contact the Embassy of Hungary in Baku and ask some questions about official position of Hungarian government. But the Secretary of the Embassy informed us that the Hungarian Ambassador Mr Zsolt Csutora is not in Azerbaijan at the moment.
It is interesting to know that why Mr Zsolt Csutora is not in Azerbaijan in such an important period when Hungarian government handed a note to Azerbaijani side on pardoning of R.Safarov?
