Abdullayev met with the head of the Turkish-American Union Faruk Taban in
Washington DC.
According to SOCAR, Taban informed the Azerbaijani delegation about the activity of the US-based organization, which aims to popularize Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other Turkic-speaking countries in the US Senate, House of Representatives and local authoritative institutions, as well as to give objective information to the American community.
Underlining the Turkey’s support of Azerbaijan, Abdullayev spoke about the SOCAR’s large investment projects carried out in Turkey and stressed the importance of joint international activity of Turkey and Azerbaijan. "We want Americans to closely know both Azerbaijan and Turkey, their rich culture and traditions", Abdullayev said.
SOCAR president presented books and souvenirs about the history of Azerbaijani oil industry to the Turkish-American Union.
