Today migration doesn’t create
any problem in Azerbaijan, migration policy director of the State
Migration Service Vahid Gahramanov told journalists.
He said Common Migration Data System enabled them to keep all information about the migrants in the focus of attention. ‘Most of the migrants come from the CIS countries. Turkish migrants also constitute majority".
Gahramanov said several years ago Chinese migrants constituted majority, but this number was significantly decreased as a result of joint measures by the State Migration Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Gahramanov said they prepared Migration Code and submitted it to relevant organizations and it would be discussed at the parliament next year. It will describe the rights and freedoms, as well as status of the migrants, refugees and other persons of this category.
