Spanish Ambassador congratulated the officials and the general public
of Azerbaijan on the selection of non-permanent membership to 2012-2013
UN Security Council. She noted that such achievement for a young country
like Azerbaijan to join a prestigious organization is worthy to
appreciate and to be proud of.
Mammadyarov assured Ms. Scola on the active part of Azerbaijan in
solving global and regional issues, and integration more into the
European system.
Ambassador Scola said that Mammadyarov’s last visit to Spain was very
fruitful for the future development of existing relations between Spain
and Azerbaijan. She added that Azerbaijan’s rapid economic development
certainly makes the country attractive for future investments and
socio-political projects. She was informed about the current situation
with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and said the status quo of the
conflict is unacceptable, and said Spain fully supports Azerbaijan’s
territorial integrity.
