"There is no need to inflate the reports about Bayil hill-side landslide", Deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the State Commission on Emergency Situations Abid Sharifov told journalists at the landslide site.
Sharifov said everyone knows that this territory is a landslide zone. "This territory is known as a landslide area for years. A large landslide occurred there in 2000. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has reported about the situation in the area every quarter during these 10 years. On August 16, we received a report informing about the intensification of the changes. We consider that relevant measures should be taken in the area to prevent landslide".
Abid Sharifov said the results of the examination will be publicized in two or three days.
"After that we will continue taking measures," he said.
He said relevant measures are being taken in the construction in the lower part of the landslide zone.
Abid Sharifov said the ring road was constructed from Azneft square towards Bayil in order to prevent landslide.
According to Deputy Prime Minister, the landslide is also connected with the large amount of precipitation this year.
