Azerbaijan and the Saudi Fund for Development have signed the protocol of negotiations held in Riyadh under the draft credit agreement on allocation of $35 million for renovation and expansion of water supply and sewerage system of Khirdalan city, Azersu JSC (national water operator) said Wednesday.
Negotiations on financing of the project were conducted during the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation headed by the deputy chairman of Azersu for Foreign Investment Ilgar Taghiyev to Riyadh on Feb. 11-15.
The project will start in the second half of 2013.
The project provides for creation of water supply network with a total length of 159 kilometers. Potable water will be supplied to the city from Jeyranbatan complex of water treatment plants. Water will flow into the three new reservoirs ("+82 Masazir", "+120 Masazir" and "+118 Absheron") with capacity of 20,000 cubic meters each, and then in drift mode - by the main line into the city. – SG/Agencies
