Currently, the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Germany makes 2.3 billion euros, up 14% compared to last year.
The statement came from executive Director of Eastern Committee of German Economy Rainer Lindner at the Azerbaijani-German business meeting.
To him, representatives of 20 German companies attended the business meeting: ‘We discussed the prospects of economic cooperation between the two countries with the Azerbaijani side. At the same time, we will hold talks on cooperation in the fields of construction, infrastructure, energy with Azerbaijani government’.
German companies offered to supply agricultural equipment to Azerbaijan.
Lindner noted that the current trade volume between the two countries is at a satisfactory level. 'Azerbaijan and Germany coped with the crisis very well. Although a number of EU countries still suffer from it'.
Azerbaijan-Germany business meeting was held in Baku by the organizing of Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development and AZPROMO (Azerbaijani Export & Investment Promotion Foundation).
Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov informed about macroeconomic stability, sustainable and durable economic development, useful business and investment environment in Azerbaijan and noted that, Azerbaijan was attractive country for foreign investments and at the same time was investment exporter.
Speaking about high level of economic and commercial relations between Azerbaijan and Germany Minister said that, German companies operate successfully in construction, bank, insurance, transport, industry, communication and trade spheres. He also noted that, operation of working group between Azerbaijani Ministry of economic Development and German Ministry of Federal Economy and Technologies on trade and investments, organized exhibition, business forum and meetings play an important role in extension of relations between two countries.
