There are currently both technical and financial opportunities of the export of Azerbaijani gas to Europe.
The statement came from Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov. He was speaking in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
He said one of the possible options is the construction of a new pipeline via Turkey to European borders.
"Then the pipeline will be divided in two branches with one towards
Greece and another towards Bulgaria where it will further broaden to
ensure gas to Central Europe and Balkans unless it reaches Austria", the
minister said.
He noted that this is a technically and financially good idea since no huge financial assets will be needed.
