Activists protesting against Putin's visit to Armenia start negotiations with police

The activists protesting against President Putin's visit to Armenia have started negotiations with Deputy Chief of the Police Valery Osipyan.

According to ArmInfo's correspondent, the protesters are demanding that the police let them go to Liberty Square so they could wait there for the release of their detained comrades, while Osipyan is urging the activists to go home - something they can hardly do as they are surrounded by the police.

Protest actions against the Russian president's visit to Armenia started early in the morning on 2 December. Activists were detained after they tried to hang banners "Serzhik's father has arrived!" and "No Customs Colonization!" in the city. Earlier today, activists hanged a colorful bathrobe and a boot over the underground passage in Khanjyan Street.
