Aztelecom Production Association of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) has launched a new service "585 – Portability of landline phone numbers."
As a result of introduction of the service, landline phone numbers with the status of Baku city network will also work in the regions with the same status under the symbol "585". Thus, every user in the region will benefit from Baku city telephone numbers. The service, which has no alternative will allow user to move phone numbers in Baku city to any place in the country. It will be possible to make calls through long-distance, intranet and wireless telephone network (CDMA) free of charge. It will lead to the creation of even more stable digital communication. "Digital divide" between urban and rural areas will be eliminated for the first time.
The service enables the user to make unlimited free calls all over the country (except Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic). The cost of the service is AZN 15 per month.
