The first match of 1/4 finals has been held in "Baku Cup 2014", SIA reports.
The duo Aleksandra Panova (RUS) and Heather Watson who defeated their strong rivals Jovanovski/Kovinic in 1/8 final faced this time with the duo of Katerina Bondarenko(RUS) and Nicole Melichar (USA).
In the first set the either party could establish superiority over each other. This was the reason why the winner of the match was identified in the tie-break. Panova and Watson made fewer mistakes in the tie-break and won the set 7:6.
In the second set Panova and Watson slightly prevailed. The duo preserved this superiority till the end of the set and won it 6:4.
Thus, Akleksandra Panova (RUS) and Heather Watson (GBR) finished the match 2-0 and moved on to the semi-finals.
