OSCE is intensifying its activity in Karabakh issue.
The statement came from Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
The minister said that the negotiations within OSCE have lasted for already 20 years. "However, no progress is observed yet. Therefore, OSCE needs to intensify efforts in this area".
'If Armenians withdraw, there will be no problems of snipers or armed incidents'
The prevention of future repetition of armed incidents in the area of the Karabakh conflict would be promoted not by some mechanisms on investigation of such incidents but the elimination of the very fact of occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia.
The statement came from Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov speaking at a joint news conference by results of a bilateral meeting with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier.
'The problem lies rather in the presence of the Armenian armed forces in the Azerbaijani lands. If these troops withdraw, there will be neither a problem of snipers nor the mechanism nor armed incidents', he said.
According to him, the main issue that demands settlement in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno Karabakh is the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from occupation.
