According to the news service for the Center of Strategic Studies of
Azerbaijan, the event, organized by the Federal Ministry of Economy for
issues of family and youth of Austria and The Energy Exchange Ltd
involves about 280 representatives from 27 countries.
The conference discusses issues as the role of Azerbaijan in
development of the South gas corridor, diversification of energy
sources, energy security of Europe, influence of the international
financial crisis on markets and so on.
Azerbaijan is represented by research worker of the Center Gulnara Rzayeva.
While speaking in the conference, Rzayeva noted that in the current
period, in particular, after the 2008 economic crisis, economic
interests became a priority and given these economic factors, Azerbaijan
was more interested in projects of small and low-capacity pipelines.
'The scale of human and financial resources spent for other
political-show pipelines curbs other producers and consumers from such
projects', Rzayeva said.
