AzerTelecom's CEO speaks at the Capacity Middle East Event

The Chief Executive Officer of AzerTelecom, Ana Nakashidze, spoke at the Capacity Middle East event held in Dubai (UAE) last week.

The panel discussion focused on the topic of "Does the Diversification of Existing Routes Alter the Internet Cable Map of the Middle East?", with the participation of leaders from various companies operating in the telecommunications sector.

During the panel discussion, there was a detailed exchange on the increasing demand for route diversification against the backdrop of the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the swift dissemination of communication technologies, and the growing dependence on internet resources. The issues of the increasing demand for route diversification and the continuity of international connectivity services were also discussed.

Due to the impact of global and regional conditions, as well as emerging technologies on the geographic spread of the internet, countries in the Middle East and neighboring regions are seeking new corridors and geographic opportunities for connectivity services. In this context, the Southern Caucasus or the Middle Corridor is becoming more significant and relevant compared to previous periods in providing connectivity services to the Middle East. Ana Nakashidze emphasized that the implementation of new, large-scale projects in this region will enhance the profitability and attractiveness of this route.

Ana Nakashidze highlighted, "Due to the influence of global and regional conditions, as well as emerging technologies on the spread of the internet, countries in the Middle East and neighboring regions are looking for new corridors and geographic opportunities for connectivity services. The implementation of new, large-scale projects in this region will enhance the profitability and attractiveness of this route."

Capacity Middle East is a significant global event that attracts more than 2600 leading companies in the ICT sector from the Middle East and surrounding regions. The event brings together representatives from telecommunications operators, cloud technologies, content, software, data centers, and other fields.
