Nearly 35,000 people vaccinated against influenza in Azerbaijan

Preventive and anti-epidemic measures are being taken to prevent the spread of acute respiratory viral infections in Azerbaijan during the autumn-winter season, TABIB told SİA.

Noted that the vaccination process began in September 2024, taking into account the requirements of the "cold chain" system: "By January 1, 2025, a total of 34,148 people were vaccinated against influenza in medical institutions under TABIB. Of these, 4,431 people were aged 0-17, and 29,717 were aged 18 and older."

It was noted that inactivated influenza vaccines help protect children and adults from influenza seasonally, especially in cases where the risk of influenza complications is high: "The vaccination process uses completely safe and high-quality vaccine preparations produced by the Abbott company, imported to the country by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan. These vaccines comply with the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Council of Europe.
