China's biggest search engine Baidu tops Alibaba

China's biggest search engine, Baidu, is challenging No. 1 e-commerce company Alibaba by adding services to allow shoppers find retail stores and save product info, Times of Oman reported.

Baidu has plans to invest in mapping company IndoorAtlas, which allows users to find their way through malls along with unveiling a mobile service that makes it easier for consumers to find nearby businesses.

Baidu earlier invested USD10 million in the Finnish company, valuing it at about USD40 million to USD50 million, a person familiar with the matter said, asking not to be identified as the details aren't public.
