"Russia, the USA, and European Union are struggling for Caucasus. Though the USA and EU pretend to have the same position, each of them has their own interest. To be ready for the struggle, Russia should negotiate with Azerbaijan, a key country in the Caucasus," politician Jumshud Nuriyev told SIA.
According to him, Azerbaijan has recently being pursued policy in accordance with its interest against Russia’s double standard policy: "Some Russian political circles may not be satisfied with Azerbaijan’s policy. But this approach is not completely related to Russian people. In addition, pro-Armenian forces presented in Russian government are trying to strain Azerbaijan – Russian relationships. At the same time, some forces within Azerbaijan are interested in straining Azerbaijan – Russia relationships to discredit the government."
