The full text of greeting of President Ilham Aliyev addressed to participants of the Fourth Russian-Azerbaijani Inter-Regional Forum in Volgograd has been published.
The text of the greeting circulated by the state Telegraph Agency of Azerbaijan is as follows:
"Dear friends! I greet participants and organizers of the annual Russian-Azerbaijani Inter-Regional Forum which is underway in the hero-city of Volgograd. Traditionally, the meeting of the forum is held alternately in Azerbaijan and Russia, which indicates a steady development of bilateral relations based on equality, good neighborliness and mutual interests.
It is noteworthy that in such a short time the forum has become an effective platform to discuss issues of regional cooperation, development of joint proposals and solutions that contribute to even greater convergence between our countries and peoples.
It is symbolic that the Volgograd, a city which celebrates 70th anniversary of the victory at Stalingrad this year was chosen for this year's meeting. The most fierce battle unfolded exactly on this land which prevented the Nazi Germany from moving deep into the country and deprived it of an access to the Baku oil, which played an important role in ensuring capability of the armed forces, thus changing the outcome of the war. Together we have overcome hardships endured by our people during those war years.
It is gratifying that today the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are at a level of strategic partnership. Our countries cooperate closely in political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. Interregional relations of Azerbaijan with the Russian Federation are developing dynamically and effectively and the scope of cooperation is expanding.
I am sure that the participants of the forum will be able to conduct business and constructive dialogue that will make a significant contribution to deepening mutual understanding and further strengthen bilateral ties.
