Switzerland does not recognize elections in occupied Karabakh

Switzerland does not recognize the "elections" held in Nagorno-Karabakh (occupied by Armenia).

According to the news service of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the statement came from the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.

"Switzerland recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan and respects the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan", the statement reads.

Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry reported earlier that all foreign nationals who visit the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan as "observers" on the so-called "Presidential elections" will be declared persona non grata in Baku.

Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unresolved for more than 20 years, despite the efforts of international mediators. 20 percent of Azerbaijan including the Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts are still under occupation of Armenian armed forces.
