Enlargement of Baku Metro will cost AZN 8.9 bln, deputy chief of metro Arif Resulov said at the International Congress and Exhibition, ‘Tunneling and underground infrastructure of cities’.
To him, according to perspective development plan of metro, 53 new stations, 84.3 km new metro line or more than 165 km tunnels will be launched: ‘1 km metro line costs AZN 100-110. It includes station, train, all cables’.
Resulov noted that 28 May station will start to operate on September 15: ‘In connection with new academic year, new station will start to work on September 15, at 6.00. 4 escalators have been installed. 2 of them are 1-m-widht, other 2 – 80 centimeters. And it is also is a novelty’.
Moreover, repair of old stations will be continued, too. One of the Sahil, Nizami or Khatayi stations will be repaired in 2013.
