The amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge of the US Navy will dock at the port of Helsinki, Finland, on August 5, SİA informs with reference to the Finnish Navy.
The length of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge is 257 meters. It was announced that there were several helicopters and amphibious vessels on board. There are also 2,000 marines and sailors on board the USS Kearsarge. The ship is expected to anchor in the port of Hernesaari and will not be open for visits.
According to information, USS Kearsarge and its crew will take part in the exercise to be held with the local Navy on August 8-9 in Hanko and Upinniem regions of Finland, in the north of the Baltic Sea. Along with it, the USS Arlington and USS Gunston Hall ships, units of the US Marine Corps will also participate in the exercise.
