Death toll in Afghanistan flash floods rises to 70

As a result of devastating flash floods caused by incessant rain in Afghanistan, the death toll has risen to 70, with 56 reported injuries, SIA reports citing Turkish media.

Canan Saeq, spokesperson for the National Disaster Management Agency, disclosed that the number of fatalities due to the floods has reached 70, while injuries have surged to 56.

Saeq revealed that over 2,500 homes have been destroyed or damaged, more than 2,000 animals perished, and approximately 95,000 hectares of agricultural land suffered extensive damage.

The Meteorological Service has issued warnings of continued heavy rainfall for another four days.
