A working group has been established in the Office of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan for prompt information exchange during municipal elections, SİA informs.
The working group was formed on the initiative of Human Rights Commissioner Sabina Aliyeva.
Staff members of the Ombudsman's Office, regional centers, and the Nakhchivan Ombudsman's Office will participate in the elections as independent observers. They will conduct monitoring at polling stations.
Each observer will provide hourly observation results to the Ombudsman.
If necessary, measures will be taken jointly with the Central Election Commission to protect citizens' rights.
Municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be held on January 29.
