Ombudsman: Countries like France obstruct peace by disregarding international law

Countries like France obstruct peace by disregarding international law, Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, told an international conference entitled "Human Rights – 75. Baku Conference: Promoting Universality and Indivisibility to Address Global and National Challenges," dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Report informs.

According to her, Armenia committed war crimes, genocide, ecocide, urbicide, and culturicide against Azerbaijanis for many years in front of the eyes of the world: “This is proved by the mass graves discovered in the territories of Azerbaijan that were under occupation for nearly 30 years and liberated in the 44-day Patriotic War, the destruction of most of the cities and villages, historical, cultural, and religious monuments, and many types of flora and fauna. In addition, the fact that the fate of nearly 4,000 of our compatriots, who went missing as a result of the military aggression carried out by Armenia against Azerbaijan with groundless territorial claims, has not yet been clarified. Unfortunately, countries like France, which today considers itself the cradle of democracy but on the contrary, implements Islamophobia and neo-colonialism policies, continue to violate human rights by showing disrespect for the provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and universal principles of international law, and prevent the achievement of peace between peoples and the creation of an environment of peace and tranquility.”
