Vitamin C is essential for the human body since it is not synthesized but comes from the outside. The condition of the skin and blood vessels depends on it since vitamin C is involved in collagen production, Marina Makisha, a nutritionist, a member of the National Association of Nutritionists and Nutritionists, told Izvestia newspaper, SİA informs.
"Vitamin C is a critical regulator, catalyst, and co-reagent in many biochemical processes. Firstly, it is a potent antioxidant. That is, it binds free radicals and inhibits the aging process in the body," the doctor explained. According to the expert, this vitamin must be present in the diet to prevent anemia.
Most of all, vitamin C is contained in rose hips: seven daily norms of the vitamin in 100 grams of this berry. When it is brewed with boiling water, its beneficial properties are halved. However, a cup of rosehip drink contains more vitamin C than a liter of orange juice, Makisha said.
There is also a lot of vitamin C in black currants, sea buckthorn, kiwi, parsley, and bell peppers. Less than 100 percent per 100 grams are found in broccoli, strawberries, spinach, and citrus fruits.
The nutritionist recommended not to abuse vitamin C in tablets since an overdose of this dietary supplement may lead to side reactions, including skin rashes or allergies.
