Two solar and two lunar eclipses expected in 2025

In 2025, a total of four eclipses will occur, including two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses, Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory told SİA.

It was reported that during eclipses, the Moon, Earth, and Sun are almost aligned in a straight line in space. However, the plane of the Moon's orbit forms an angle of only 5°9' with the ecliptic plane. Due to this difference, we are able to observe eclipses not every month, but only when the Moon and the Sun are in a specific configuration. Additionally, the occurrence of a solar eclipse is significantly influenced by the fact that the apparent angular size of the Sun and the Moon's disks are nearly the same.
