In January-September 2024, 13.9 million tons of cargo and 5,987,000 passengers were transported by railway transport in Azerbaijan, the State Statistics Committee told SİA.
Compared to the same period of 2023, there was a 1.5% increase in cargo transportation, and a 21.8% increase in passenger transportation.
"On average, 394 wagons were loaded and 433 wagons were unloaded per day," the information said.
Noted that 18.6 thousand tons of loading work in the northern direction of the railway, 4.1 thousand tons of loading work in the western direction, 0.7 thousand tons of loading work in the southern direction was carried out during the day.
