"Pearls of Shusha culture": "Majlisi-faramushan" literary meeting

On the occasion of the "Year of Shusha", the project "Pearls of Shusha culture" implemented by the Ministry of Culture continues. The next presentation of the "Literary life of Shusha" section of the project is dedicated to the "Majlisi-faramushan" literary meeting.

We have already reported on "Majlisi-uns", one of the famous poetic gatherings that played an important role in the development of literature in Shusha, the cradle of mugham art. This time, we will talk about "Majlisi-faramushan" ("Forgotten Assembly"), which was created eight years after "Majlisi-uns".

"Majlisi-faramushan" was also known as "Majlisi-khamushan" ("Assembly of restless, quiet people") In 1872, Abdulla Bey Asi, Mirza Abulhasan Shahid, Mirza Abdul Shahin, Fatma Khanum Kamina, Hasanali Khan Garadaghi and other poets gathered in this literary meeting under the leadership of Mir Mohsen Nawab.

The names of the members of "Majlisi-faramushan", like other assemblies, are not fully covered in the sources. Their name was mostly determined from the poems of Shusha poets and correspondence with poets from other cities.

In "Majlisi-faramushan", the poets read the "ghazal" that was recited during the meeting according to its "bahr" and "taqti", and with that tune, they tapped their feet on the ground and made a corresponding sound. Along with poets, musicians also took part in the assembly. Among the famous Karabakh singers and "tar" masters(tarzan), Kharrat Gulu, Mirza Sadığcan, Haji Husü, Mashadi Isi added glory to these gatherings.

Under the leadership of M.M. Navvab and Haji Husu, a musical assembly called "Singers' Assembly" also operated under "Majlisi-faramushan".

As in other literary assemblies, the members of "Majlisi-faramushan" were not limited to writing only in the classical style - "Aruz" verse. They also created beautiful poems in "Heca" verse.

"Majlisi-faramushan", which operated until 1910, played an important role in the literary and cultural life of Shusha and contributed to the dissemination of the literary process.
