Member of French Senate: so-called Armenian genocide law be adopted under the influence of Armenian lobby”
"Events occurred in Ottoman Empire in 1995 should be assess by historians, not by politicians," member of the French Senate Nathalie Goulet told journalists in Baku, SIA reports.
She said the law on the recognition of the so-called Armenian genocide had been adopted by the lower house of the French parliament, but it had not been put up for discussion at the Senate yet.
"I am a member of the Senate, this law has not been discussed in the upper house of the parliament yet. As regards the adoption of the law in the lower house, I should say that Armenian lobby is strong in France and the draft law has been adopted under their influence. Events occurred in Ottoman Empire in 1995 should be assess by historians, not by politicians" she noted.
