President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received the United States Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus.
During the meeting, they expressed satisfaction with development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and U.S. in various fields.
The parties underlined the two countries were successfully cooperating in the military field for many years.
They expressed confidence these relations would continue to expand.
U.S.
Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus praised the participation of Azerbaijan in
international peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan and the role of the country in
provision of transport for international peacekeepers.
They also discussed security, energy and transport security issues between Azerbaijan and the United States.
