Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennadiy Gatilov spoke to Azerbaijani counterpart Araz Azimov on 10 November.
The official website for the Russian Foreign Ministry reports that in the light of Azerbaijan’s election as nonpermanent member for 2012-2013, the discussion mostly concentrated on the agenda of the UN Security Council, related to strengthening security and stability in the world and resolution of severe regional conflicts, primarily in Middle East and North Africa.
The sides stressed the importance of constructive Russian-Azerbaijani interaction within the framework of the Council with respect to traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Azerbaijan", the statement says.
