Nar Mobile provided free communication support to the residents of Masally district, who lost fixed-line communication services as a result of the explosion at Masally ATS on February 07, 2011. Due to the explosion in the building of Masally ATS the entire city lost the fixed-line telephony, and local residents have been able to communicate mainly through mobile communication services. Considering the deadly blast and the increased need for communication in the region Nar Mobile decided to offer free 50-video/voice minutes and 50 SMS for all new local subscribers. The offer is valid in the period between February 09 and February 23, 2011. To benefit from the free offer new subscribers would have to approach Nar Mobile dealer and distributor points with their ID cards.
Commenting on the incident in Masally, the CEO of Azerfon Mr. Jurgen Peetz stated: "We are very sorry to hear about the deadly blast in Masally that caused the lives of two telephone station employees and left the city without stationary phone services. We express our condolences to the families of the victims and wish soonest recovery of the injured. In order to support the residents of Masally in their communication needs Nar Mobile offers free 50 voice minutes and 50 SMS for all new subscribers. We hope this will be worthwhile communication support for Masally people in emergency days."
This is not the first time when Nar Mobile supports its customers in emergency situations. In June 2010 Nar Mobile provided continuous mobile communication to the central regions of Azerbaijan damaged by floods. Nar Mobile engaged additional technical teams and mobile base stations to strengthen its network performance in the flooded areas.
