Kramatorsk railway station was hit by a Tochka-U missile

Kramatorsk Mayor Alexander Goncharenko said many of those injured in the attack were in critical condition and some had lost their arms and legs.

Goncharenko said hospitals could not reach the wounded for treatment and that about 40 doctors operated on the wounded, and that there were about 4,000 civilians at the station at the time of the attack.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the Russian military fired a Tochka-U missile at a railway station in the town of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region.

"Thousands of Ukrainian civilians were hit by a Tochka-U rocket at the Kramatorsk railway station as they waited for evacuation, killing about 30 and injuring about 100. Police and rescuers are already at the scene," added Zelensky.

A statement from the Russian Defense Ministry said that the statements made by Russian forces about the missile attack on the Kramatorsk train station were "false" and "provocative."

The statement said that the explanation of the Ukrainian leadership on the subject was incorrect and claimed that the Tochka-U tactical missiles, which were broadcast, were used only by the Ukrainian armed forces.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said that the Russian Defense Ministry's statement of Russian Armed Forces not using the Tochka-U missile should be taken into account , "Our armed forces do not use such missiles, and today there were no combat missions in Kramatorsk, it was not planned. According to this statement, we must act," he said.
