There is growing momentum in cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan across all areas, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said in an interview with Uzbekistan 24.
According to SİA, he said that state visits by the presidents of the two countries had already become a good tradition: Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Azerbaijan last year, while Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is paying a state visit to Uzbekistan this year.
"We see growing momentum across all areas. Today (August 23 – ed.), 13 documents were signed following this visit. The most important documents are the Treaty on Eternal Friendship between our countries, the final decision of the third meeting of the Interstate Council, as well as 11 additional documents covering a wide range of sectors and areas. A large number of new projects have been launched. The interregional forum (August 22 – ed.) was held with great success and produced strong results," the minister said.
Bayramov noted that each state visit gives additional impetus to bilateral relations. He expressed satisfaction with Uzbekistan's development, emphasizing that even the short intervals between his visits make it possible to observe dynamic changes in Tashkent and the country's regions.
"Uzbekistan's international standing is developing very dynamically and continues to grow steadily on the international stage," Jeyhun Bayramov added.
