Israel is ready to remove residents of the war-ravaged Gaza Strip from the territory if the United States approves such a move, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said at a conference organized by Ynet, SİA informs.
Katz said there was ultimately no realistic solution for Gaza without relocating the population.
He claimed that US President Donald Trump had not abandoned his 2025 proposal to move around 2 million Gaza residents to Egypt and Jordan, but had merely frozen it under pressure from Arab countries.
According to Katz, the plan has not been cancelled and continues to be discussed. He added that if Hamas failed to meet its commitments under the US peace plan for Gaza, Israel would expect a green light to move forward militarily, territorially and in other areas.
