Burhanettin Duran: Türkiye intends to strengthen OTS role on int'l stage
The upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) should become a new stage of interaction between the Turkic states, SİA, informs, referring to statements by Head of the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidency Burhanettin Duran at the panel discussion "Turkic World Dialogues: Shared Future, Shared Vision" in Astana.
The event took place ahead of the 13th OTS summit, which will be held on October 29–30 in Ankara.
Duran also stated that upon assuming the chairmanship of the OTS, Türkiye intends to strengthen cooperation within the organization and enhance its role in the international arena.
Priority areas for cooperation within the OTS framework included the development of the Middle Corridor, the expansion of energy and transport links, trade integration, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and cooperation in emergency response.
Turkish Ambassador to Kazakhstan Mustafa Kapucu noted that energy resources, geographical location, and transit capabilities create significant potential for the development of the Turkic world.
Participants also discussed cooperation between universities and scholars, work on a common Turkic alphabet, and the expansion of humanitarian ties.
Special attention was paid to information security. The parties emphasized the need for a joint fight against disinformation, hate speech, and digital manipulation, as well as the development of common communication platforms.
