Moody's: Azerbaijan's GDP growth in 2025 will be 2.5%

Azerbaijan's GDP is expeсted to grow by 2.5% in 2025, according to the international rating agency Moody's, Report informs.

According to the agency's estimates, Azerbaijan's GDP growth rate will remain at the same level in 2026. In 2024, the country's economy grew by 4.1% against growth of 1.1% in 2023.

Economic growth this year will be ensured primarily by the non-oil sector, which in 2024 formed about 60% of the country's GDP. Public investment, including in the restoration of territories in Karabakh and the development of infrastructure, will also become factors supporting economic growth. An additional impetus to the economy will be given by the growth of natural gas production and exports, the update says.

Moody's expects a decrease in geopolitical tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia as negotiations on a peace agreement progress. The Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan forecasts economic growth in the country this year at 3.5%, and the Central Bank expects GDP growth of 3.3%.

According to forecasts of the international rating agency S&P Global, Azerbaijan's GDP growth in 2025-2026 will be 2% per year. Fitch Ratings forecasts the country's GDP growth of 3% in 2025 and 2.4% in 2026.
