Is Jamie Dornan leaving Fifty Shades of Grey ?

Fifty Shades of Grey fans had a social media meltdown this week following reports that Jamie Dornan was "walking away" from the franchise. It had been claimed that the Irish actor had decided not to return to the role of Christian Grey because his wife Amelia Warner felt uncomfortable with the themes in the movie. But it turns out, their fears were unfounded.

"All press reports are pure conjecture as the studio has not committed to a sequel yet," a rep for the 32-year-old has since confirmed.

Jamie recently spoke of his wife's discomfort in an interview with the Evening Standard. "(Amelia) hasn't seen the film and I don't think she will, to be honest," he revealed. "I'd understand if she didn't want to."

Although the studio has "not committed" to a follow-up of the first movie, both Jamie and his co-star Dakota Johnson are contracted to appear in any sequels. And, given the box office success of the raunchy film, that seems more likely than not.

Fifty Shades of Grey has taken $400million worldwide since its release on Valentine’s weekend, and has been riding high at both the UK and US box offices.

Jamie isn't the only one to have been the subject of quitting rumours though. There has been speculation that director Sam Taylor-Johnson is bowing out of the franchise after her relationship with the book's author E.L. James became "toxic".
