On 17 May, the Modern Art Museum, Maiden Tower Picture Gallery and Icheri Sheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve Office launched the third Maiden Tower International Art festival at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Chief of the Reserve Office Mikayil Jabbarov has given comments on the festival.
He said it was the third year that Baku hosted such festival which awakens more and more interest every year.
"This means that this festival is recognized at the international level."
According to Jabbarov, the festival this year has involved representatives of 24 countries, including Azerbaijan.
"This festival which started off in 2010 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is very significant for Azerbaijan and this festival has already turned into an international cultural event," he said.
According to him, participants of the festival will embellish small models of the Maiden Tower according to their own imagination with the fusion of different cultures and traditions.
"Besides, gazelle models will be also prepared and presented in order to draw attention to the "Caucasus five". This aims to raise international awareness about this rare animal in Azerbaijan," Jabbarov said.
