Real risk of escalation remains in Nagorno-Karabakh OSCE Chairman

"The OSCE is ready to support concrete steps to achieve peace in Nagorno-Karabakh," OSCE Chairman-in-Office and Slovakia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajčák said at the 26th OSCE Ministerial Council in Bratislava (Slovakia).

"A real risk of escalation of the conflict remains in Nagorno-Karabakh," Lajčák said.

In addition, according to him, Georgian citizens are constantly facing systematic violations of their rights, and the progress achieved over these years in Transnistria may be lost.

"I don’t have a magic formula to solve crises and conflicts. I’m sure that OSCE’s efforts to de-escalate conflicts through opening new channels in order to establish a dialogue are invaluable," M. Lajčák emphasized.

“We are ready to support concrete steps to achieve peace,” the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office said.
